The Town of Acton invites everyone who lives or works in Acton to participate in a community focus group and share their experiences, ideas, and hopes for the town. These small group conversations will help guide future plans related to health, well-being, and equity in Acton.

This initiative is led by the Acton Health and Human Services Department in partnership with the Town’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office as part of Acton for Pro-Action, a cross-departmental effort focused on making Acton fair, healthy, and welcoming for all. The work is supported by a state grant that helps municipalities better understand community needs and ensure town services are equitable and inclusive.
As part of this effort, the Town is working with consulting firms 3×3 and the Acton Community Based Collaborative (ACBC). These partners are meeting with community members, local organizations, and town staff to gather input on what is working well and where improvements are needed to better serve everyone who lives or works in Acton.
The project includes two key components:
- A Community Health Equity Needs Assessment to understand health concerns and what residents need to feel safe, supported, and included.
- An Equity Audit to review town policies, programs, and services and identify opportunities to address inequities and improve outcomes.
Together, these efforts will help identify barriers, highlight opportunities for improvement, and guide meaningful changes that make Acton more responsive and inclusive.
Because this work depends on strong community involvement, the Town is especially eager to hear from individuals and groups whose voices are not always represented.
