On a beautiful afternoon at NARA Park in Acton, The Peacemakers Network held its inaugural “Children of Hope” event. The September 29 gathering brought together community members, families, and local organizations to raise funds for Gaza Infant Nutrition Alliance (GINA), an organization dedicated to providing breastfeeding support for mothers in Gaza and healthcare professionals in the region.

The atmosphere was electric with laughter and conversations as families engaged in various activities designed to foster connection and raise awareness about the challenges faced by mothers and children in Gaza. Attendees enjoyed games, face painting, karaoke, and music, all while learning about pressing maternal and neonatal health issues currently affecting the region.

Reports from Gaza indicate an increase in miscarriage rates, C-sections performed without anesthesia, and a severe lack of adequate water and nutrition for nursing mothers. Many families in Gaza face insufficient access to formula and clean water necessary for mixing formula, which directly impacts the health of both mothers and their newborns.
The funds raised during the “Children of Hope” event directly support GINA’s efforts to provide essential resources, education, and support to mothers and healthcare providers in Gaza to ensure that mothers can care for their children with dignity and support, paving the way for healthier future generations.

A representative from The Peacemakers Network emphasized the importance of coming together as a community to advocate for those in need. “Today, we stand in solidarity with mothers in Gaza, recognizing that our shared humanity compels us to act. Together, we can make a difference, ensuring that no mother must face these challenges alone.”
