Lillian A. Jaehnig, 102 years and 11 months, a resident of nearly 60 years in Boxborough, MA passed away on July 14, 2026.

Born in Boston (Roxbury) at home on Aug. 8, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Brennan and Lena (Henson} Brennan. Besides her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her brother Frederick and sister Marie, and her husband of 66 years Paul H. Jaehnig.
Lillian is survived by her children: Leo from Texas, Patricia Jaehnig from Maryland, Marie from Atlanta and Paul from CT; her grandchildren Dave from CT, Stephen from CT, Michael from CT, Maggie from GA, Philip from Maryland, and Dee from Maryland; and great grand children Alice from CT and Scarlet from CT.
Lillian lived most of her life in Massachusetts. Lillian worked for First National Bank of Boston following her graduation from High School, and took vacations with her girlfriends to Bermuda prior to marrying her husband in 1952. In 1960 Lillian and family moved from Waltham, MA to Boxborough where they remained until 2018. In 2018 Lillian and her husband Paul re-located to Concord Park, with Paul being there only a short time; Lillian lived there until 2023. Lillian’s time at Concord Park provided important social interaction with others of her age. In 2023 Lillian moved to CT to live with one of her sons until passing.
Lillian worked in the Acton Boxborough School system in the cafeteria for nearly 20 years, retiring in 1995. She really enjoyed the people she worked with, and interacting with the students. Lillian and her husband travelled extensively following her retirement, going to the Dominican Republic, Germany, Mexico, and Ireland. They particularly enjoyed a river cruise down the Danube River.
Lillian was an active member of the Boxborough community, helping in Girl Scouts and a variety of yearly local events.
Lillian kept active, even after she turned 100 years old. Her mind remained intact until her last days, even though the body began to fail.
A friend to everyone she met, Lillian never had a bad thing to say about anyone. A devoted wife to her husband, loving mother to her children, and her consideration of others, she provides an excellent template for others on how to follow the right path.
Contributions in Lillian’s memory may be made to the Boxborough Public Library.
