Firefighter Stephen Flanagan graduates from MA Firefighting Academy

The Acton Fire Department is pleased to announce that Firefighter Stephen Flanagan graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program Class #339.

Flanagan was one of 31 firefighters who graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s 50-day Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program on June 5.

Firefighter Flanagan has been with Acton Fire since June 2025. He worked at MedStar Ambulance and at Grafton Fire as a call firefighter before joining Acton Fire.

He is a nationally certified EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), further showcasing his dedication to the department and the community.

Also graduating in the #339 class were members of Brookline, Fitchburg, Gloucester, Lynn, Methuen, Randolph, Westford, and Woburn.

“I am pleased to welcome Firefighter Flanagan, the newest addition to our department,” said Chief Anita Arnum. “Firefighter Flanagan has both the experience and commitment needed to serve the Acton community.”
