    Learn about about cranberries with the Acton Garden Club! We won’t travel to Cape Cod for a tour, but this is the next best thing. How are cranberries grown and harvested? What makes them such a special New England crop? Deb Kanady is a retired cancer center mental health counselor and researcher who moved to South Plymouth and lives in the cranberry bogs. She is a trained cranberry tour guide for Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association and several local farms and an avid birder and trekker.

Doug will share  the history and significance of the Pine Hawk archaeological site in South Acton.  Acton's most important archaeological discovery, the site was surveyed prior to the construction of  Acton's wastewater treatment plant on Adams Street while Halley was the Health Director of the town.     “I Hiked Acton’s Trails!”  Walk the trails in Acton’s conservation areas with the goal of earning a sticker and a sew-on patch! These weekly walks are a joint effort between Acton Conservation Trust and Acton Conservation Division. We’ll walk a different conservation area weekly. Check out the “I Hiked Acton’s Trails” Challenge form HERE for more information about the challenge. Date: Wednesdays from September 3 to November 19. Once you register, the location of each hike will be sent out each Sunday before the walk. Time: 2:30-4:00 pm. Plan to arrive a few minutes early as we will start our hikes on time.
