The League of Women Voters of Acton Area presents their annual candidate's forum for all of the candidates running for Acton town offices. This year, there are contested races for: Select Board (two openings with three candidates) School Committee (three openings with six candidates) Water District Commissioner (one opening with two candidates) Hear what these and the uncontested candidates have to say at a moderated forum so you can be a prepared voter for the town election on April 28!

See how many you have been to and recall past adventures or learn about others that you never got to experience first-hand. Each landmark, whether natural or manmade, contributes to our country’s history and culture. We’ll start with some clues to pinpoint our destination and then delve into the background of each stop of our travels. Crisscrossing around the country, we’ll explore some of the biggest tourist destinations our 50 states have to offer, each revealing a different chapter of the American story.

The Acton Democratic Town Committee is holding a meet and greet for the candidates for Acton's town elections. Meet the Actonians who are stepping up to run for a position, along with some incumbents. Note: Due to a 6:30 School Committee meeting, School Committee members and candidates may only be available from 5:30 to 6.

Central Middlesex Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and the Acton Health and Human Services sponsored by Acton Fire/EMS/EMD proudly presents a workshop to be prepared for emergencies. In this two-hour workshop you will receive a Make a Plan template and learn about: Why you we need to be prepared Different types of disasters Sheltering in place Evacuation notices Pets Go-bags Presented by Lois Luniewicz, Registered Environmental Health Specialist and Coordinator, Central Middlesex Medical Reserve Corps. Lois has over twenty years experience with Medical Reserve Corps, Emergency Preparedness and Public Health.

Professional tour leader Amy Cole grew up near Acton Center and has a wide ranging-interest in Acton’s unique history. Walking Acton’s historic civic center, you will learn about the people, places and practices that shaped the town’s history and our nation’s as well. Topics include Native American history, the role of the church, the importance of Captain Isaac Davis and the Acton Minutemen, nearby historic buildings, memorials and more.
