Entrepreneurs, academics, and professionals from companies including SolidWorks, Draper Labs, Eversource, Analog Devices, and more will be on hand to meet students and provide insight into their career paths and advice. Students can: Meet engineers, technologists, and educators from technology industries who have built companies, products, and teams based on their skills in science, mathematics, and engineering. The Iron Work Farm will hold their first “4th Sunday” open houses of the season (1-3 p.m. at the Tavern and 3-5 p.m. at the homestead). A highlight this month at the Faulkner Homestead as part of Freedom’s Way Heritage Association’s “Hidden Treasures” program will be a focus on the Faulkner family’s huge 19th-century barn, which stood on Faulkner Hill until destroyed by arson in 1938. The granite barn cellar still stands, and can be visited today as one of the historic sites on the homestead’s six-acre property. The Acton Minutemen will split into two groups to commemorate our heroes of military service with a ceremonial volley and wreath laying at the following locations prior to the Acton Memorial Day ceremony: 8:30 am - Forest Cemetery (10 North Street) and Mount Hope Cemetery (160 - 174 Central Street) 9:00 am - Quimby Square ( corner of Main and School Streets) and Edwards Square (corner of Central Street and Mass. Town of Acton Memorial Day Parade and Ceremonies The parade leaves the Spruce Street side of the Boardwalk Campus at 10:00 am sharp and proceeds along following route: Spruce Street to Mass Ave. to Windsor Ave. into Mt. Hope Cemetery. Main Ceremony at 10:45 AM at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Parade continues up to West Acton Common where an abbreviated ceremony is held before parade dismissal. Due to Monday’s forecast the Parade has been canceled. We are moving our ceremony indoors to the Faulkner Room at Town Hall which will begin at 11am. Parking is available behind Town Hall and all are welcome to attend.
