Great Decisions is America's largest discussion program on world affairs. The program model involves reading the Great Decisions Briefing Book and meeting in a Discussion Group to discuss the most critical global issues facing America today. This months topic will be on NATO. A short article is available from the Great Decisions briefing book. Please read it ahead of the meeting. It is available in the library. Visitors can enjoy the Museum and the Discovery Woods outdoor nature playscape and Treehouse with free admission from 4:30pm to 8:00pm every Friday night from June 20 until Labor Day. Reservations are no longer required nor accepted. The Museum will gratefully accept non-perishable food items for Open Table and Acton Food Pantry in lieu of admission, though a food donation is not required for admission. Looking to practice your English speaking skills? Join a free conversation group with English At Large to build your skills and confidence speaking English in a group setting with the support of trained facilitators. When: Weekly on Mondays from 6:15-7:15pm, Sept 22-Dec 15 Where: Acton Memorial Library, 2nd floor English At Large conversation groups are for intermediate to advanced adult English language learners to practice speaking and listening for 90 minutes once per week. Join Rotary Club of Acton/Boxborough for a luncheon for seniors who live in Acton and Boxborough. Acton seniors can sign up until August 27 with the Acton Council on Aging by calling 978-929-6652. The luncheon is sponsored and hosted by The Rotary Club of Acton/Boxborough and the Boxborough Regency. Lunch features Regency Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Rolls and Butter, and Apple Pie.
