The Acton Exchange team holds monthly meetings that are open to our active volunteers and anyone who might want to become a volunteer. If you have an Acton connection and want to contribute to independent community journalism in our town, it is likely that the AE has a role for you, whatever your skill sets and interests might be. Each meeting begins with an opportunity to learn what has been going on at the Acton Exchange, followed by an opportunity to improve our journalism skills. Visitors can enjoy the Museum and the Discovery Woods outdoor nature playscape and Treehouse with free admission from 4:30pm to 8:00pm every Friday night from June 20 until Labor Day. Reservations are no longer required nor accepted. The Museum will gratefully accept non-perishable food items for Open Table and Acton Food Pantry in lieu of admission, though a food donation is not required for admission. AB STEAM Student Hackathon: Flood solutions

Calling all students (grades 7 - 12) and residents interested in acting locally to help reduce the local impacts of flooding. The issue: How can we reduce flooding and the impacts of flooding in Acton in a way that is economical, sustainable, and socially and environmentally friendly? Are you a problem solver? Interested in environmental science and sustainability? Join a team or create your own team to develop strategies to reduce flooding and earn community service hours in the process. The first step for this event is a tour of Acton's flood prone areas (exact location provided after you register).
