Joining Senator Eldridge and his staff were members of the Acton Food Pantry board and staff, the Acton Select Board, and the Acton Town Manager’s office.

Following a competitive bid process, the town of Acton awarded the lease of 19-21 Maple Street to the Acton Food Pantry. In exchange for minimal rent, the Pantry will take on the cost of renovating the buildings to create a bright, efficient, and welcoming market style pantry for clients. The renovation building campaign target is $1 million. In the last year the Pantry provided groceries to approximately 40,000 people and distributed over 575,000 pounds of food. These numbers represent significant growth over the past 5 years, as food insecurity in our community spreads.

As the Acton Food Pantry celebrates its 40th anniversary the staff and board want to thank the greater Acton community for its tremendous support. It is due to the generous donations of money, food, and volunteer time that the Acton Food Pantry can take this significant step to expand critical services.
