Acton business owners briefed on concert series and economic development plan

The Acton Economic Development Committee (EDC) held a luncheon at Town Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, to brief local business owners on the 2025 summer concert series and special events as well as upcoming public workshops on the Town’s Strategic Economic Development Plan.

2025 proposed concert series

Maura Haberman, Acton’s Event & Program Coordinator, unveiled the details about the upcoming summer concert series and special events, which will be hosted by the Acton Recreation Department and held at NARA Park. For 2025, the series will include:

  • Friday, June 20, 8-10 p.m.: Acton Pride Drag Show, $20 early bird fee/25 day of the event.
  • Saturday June 21, 12-3 p.m.: Acton-Westford Pride Festival, free admission.
  • Friday, July 4, 7-10 p.m.: July 4th Concert featuring Thirty6Red and Fireworks at NARA Park, free admission.
  • Friday, July 11, 8-10:30 p.m.: Kashmir – The Spirit of Led Zeppelin Live, $20 early bird fee/$25 day of the event.
  • Friday, July 18, 8-10:30 p.m.: Draw the Line – A Tribute to Aerosmith, $20 early bird fee/$25 day of the event.
  • Friday, July 25, 8-10:30 p.m.: Yellow Brick Road – A Tribute to Elton John, $20 early bird fee/$25 day of the event.
  • Friday, Aug. 1, 7-10:30 p.m.: Acton Kicks Country! featuring Bernard Houston, line dancing instruction, and BBQ, (wear your cowboy boots and hat), $20 early bird fee/$25 day of the event.
  • Friday, Aug. 8, 7:30-10:30 p.m.: BonJourneyNY and opener Whitney Doucey Band, $20 early bird fee/$25 day of the event.
  • Friday, Aug. 15, 8-10:30 p.m.: Into the Floyd – featuring laser light show, $20 early bird fee/$25 day of the event.
  • Friday, Aug. 22, 7-9:30 p.m.: Taylorville – Tribute Show, $30 early bird fee/no tickets sold day of the event.
  • Friday, Oct. 17: Monsterbash DJ Dance Party, $10 early bird fee or day of the event.
  • Select Friday/Saturday nights in October from 6-8 p.m.: Nightmare at NARA, 7-9 p.m., $10 early bird fee or day of the event.

Strategic Plan for Economic Development in Acton

Patty Sutherland, the co-chair of Acton’s EDC, also briefed local business owners about two special public workshops for the Strategic Plan for Economic Development in the Town.

On Wednesday Jan. 22 (snow date Jan. 29) at 7 p.m., there will be a public workshop on the preliminary findings and draft recommendation, which will be held at the Acton Recreation Center, 50 Audubon Drive, Acton, or via Zoom.

On Wednesday, Feb. 26 (snow date Mar 5) at 7 p.m., there will be a second public workshop on the final presentation at Acton Town Hall or via Zoom.
