Residents and non-residents of all ages and abilities are invited to experience the joy of cycling this spring and summer through Rail Trail Rides: Sudbury, a free adaptive cycling program designed to make outdoor recreation accessible to everyone.
Hosted by the Town of Sudbury’s Commission on Disability and Rail Trails Advisory Committee in partnership with All Out Adventures, the program will take place on May 2, June 6, August 22, and September 19 at Broadacres Farm Parking Lot (62 Morse Road). Broadacres Farm is an official access point for the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. From there, a cyclist can ride safely along the rail trail across the southwest corner of Concord and into East Acton. One-hour riding sessions will be offered between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Participants will have access to a wide range of adaptive cycles, including recumbent trikes, handcycles, and tandem bikes. Trained staff will be on site to ensure a safe, supportive, and welcoming experience for all riders. Helmets will be provided, though participants may bring their own.

“This program reflects what inclusive community programming should look like; removing barriers and creating opportunities for people of all abilities to fully participate,” said Karyn Jones, Vice Chair of the Commission on Disability. “Whether it’s a child riding for the first time or an adult rediscovering the joy of cycling, these moments matter. They build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging.”
“We are proud to bring this program to Sudbury and to partner with organizations that share our commitment to accessibility and inclusion,” said Leisje Quinto, chair of the commission on disability. “Everyone deserves the chance to experience the outdoors in a way that works for them, and Rail Trail Rides helps make that possible in a meaningful, welcoming way.”
The program is made possible through a grant from the Sudbury Foundation, supporting inclusive recreational opportunities for people of all abilities.
Whether trying cycling for the first time or returning to a favorite activity, Rail Trail Rides offers a meaningful way for residents to connect with the outdoors, and with each other, in an inclusive, supportive setting.
