May Day served up perfect weather for the annual A-B Youth Baseball Day, and a crowd-pleasing comeback, albeit short-lived, for the home team. Revs’ pitchers Jackson Healy and Graeme Giannetto held the 9-1 Wildcats to five hits and three runs through six innings, while being supported by just one hit from their teammates.

But in the Revs’ sixth, their bats went to work. Singles by Giannetto, Jackson Healy, and Jonathan Schick, and a triple by Evan Foh, tied the game at 3-3, before the inning ended on a pick-off play. The Cats could muster only a base on balls in the 7th, succumbing to three flyouts, setting the stage for a possible walk-off win for the Revs. But that was not to be, with only Nick Falcone reaching on an error.

Apparently, Wildcats don’t sleep for very long, as they sprang into the extra inning with four straight hits to regain their three-run margin. A-B went down 1-2-3 in their half to seal the win for the visitors. The Revs, now 4-7, next played Bedford, Boston Latin, and Concord-Carlisle, and will host Waltham on the 13th, all Dual-County League opponents.
