  • Combatting Antisemitism in MA with Rep. Simon Cataldo

    The social action group Na’aseh (We will Act) of Congregation Beth Elohim, is proud to host State Rep. Simon Cataldo.  Rep. Cataldo will speak about the findings and report of the Special Commission Combatting Anti-Semitism. Rep. Cataldo co-chaired this commission formed in 2024. In time for the start of school, the commission issued its K-12 recommendations. Read the report HERE.   The final report will be released in November. Rep. Cataldo will speak about the commission’s process and its recommendations for school districts, followed by Q & A.  A short reception will follow. Note that this event will be free

    A Story of Resistance & Bravery in WWII, featuring the Jewish Partisans In commemoration of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), the Adult Education Committee will be screening Four Winters, followed by a conversation with the film director, Julia Mintz. There will be a short religious service before the screening. FILM SYNOPSIS  Over 25,000 Jewish partisans fought back against the Nazis and their collaborators from deep within the forests of WWII’s Eastern Europe, Ukraine and Belarus. Against extraordinary odds, they escaped Nazi slaughter, transforming from young innocents to courageous resistance fighters.     Each year political parties in Massachusetts hold caucuses throughout the Commonwealth to elect delegates to their annual conventions. For Democrats in Acton, the Caucus will be held on Sunday, April 6th at Congregation Beth Elohim Social Hall. The doors will open at 3:30PM and the caucus will begin at 4PM. We can elect up to 15 delegates and 4 alternates to the annual Massachusetts Democratic State Convention, which will be held this year on Saturday, September 13th in Springfield.  The meeting is open to the public, but only registered Democrats in Acton may vote or be delegate candidates.
