"I Hear the Stars Still Singing" is a constellation of contemporary choral music contemplating the stars and the universe, featuring a multi-movement work by Kenneth Riggs called “Starlight Songs,” plus works by other living composers such as J. Michael Saunders, Jacob Narverud, Susan LaBarr, and Victor C. Johnson. The music ranges from exciting and hopeful to contemplative and serene, while we consider how the stars influence and guide us through our lives. Snow date: January 11. Free for students (K -12), $28 general admission.

Join us for a 30-minute organ concert conducted by our talented Acton Congregational Church Coordinator of Music and Organist, Elizabeth Carley! Liz will provide us with backstories of some of our favorite carols and then delight us with some amazing music! We're all invited to sing along! After the concert, we'll all gather for some fellowship. You bring a brown bag lunch and we'll supply juice, cookies, and a warm welcome! Get into the festive spirit with this fun and unique event! Step back into an old-fashioned Christmas as we gather for a warm and welcoming tree lighting on the church lawn. Join us on Saturday, December 6th, at 4:00 pm as we bring some light to the holiday season. Enjoy cookies, cocoa, and the glow of candlelight as we sing beloved carols together. Just in time for those difficult discussions over Thanksgiving, join us to learn the basics in keeping the conversation amicable. Braver Angels have been active for almost a decade and have been effective in giving concerned participants the skills needed to converse without rancor. The Social Justice Task Force of Acton Congregational Church invites you to a special 90-minute presentation by the Braver Angels organization. Braver Angels is a volunteer-led nonpartisan movement bringing Americans together to counter polarization and preserve what makes our nation strong. Kick off your holiday shopping at Acton Congregational Church's First Annual Handmade Harvest Market! We're bringing together a variety of professional artisans and enthusiastic shoppers for a wonderful day of creativity and community. Admission: $3 adults, Free for students and children Proceeds benefit the local Missions and Outreach activities of ACC.

Join the ACC organist, Liz Carley, for a free 30 minute concert and lecture on some of the spooky music associated with Hallowe’en. Liz will give a little history of Hallowe’en and play one or two serious organ pieces. Then the fun begins with singing some classic silly Hallowe’en songs. Bring a brown bag lunch and have lunch with us after the concert in our fellowship hall. You bring the interest and the sandwiches, and we'll provide the music, juice, and cookies. Come and celebrate the season through music. It will be a Hallowe'en Howl.

The Senior High Youth Fellowship (SHYF) is hosting a chili cook-off to raise money for their mission trip to West Virginia in April. Come to Hartman Hall to learn more about the type of work we do there, and come to try some amazing chili! The attendance fee is $5 per person, $15 for families of 4 or more. If you wish to vote for the best chili, it’s $1 per  voting ticket, $5 for 6, $10 for 12. Donations are always welcome.

On June 19 at 2:00 pm, the Acton Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission invites you to our commemoration of Juneteenth. We begin at the Acton Congregational Church with author Ray Anthony Shephard, who will present a history of Juneteenth and its relevance to other fights for freedom, followed by several musical selections. Around 3:00 pm, we will walk to the Acton Women’s Club where local tour guide Amy Cole will share Acton’s history about Emancipation and local abolitionists. We end with a presentation on how horse culture ties into the histories of Black freedom.
