As part of the ongoing Route 62 sewer upgrade project (described in this June 21 article), a temporary road closure and detour are required on Monday, July 14, and Tuesday, July 15, during construction hours (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) to install the sewer piping across the eastbound and westbound travel lanes of Powder Mill Road. This temporary closure will allow workers to quickly and safely cross the roadway in this area. Local, single-lane traffic management will resume after this phase of work is complete.
To complete work in the orange area shown in the map below, the eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic will be closed on Powder Mill Road between 2 Powder Mill Road and Sudbury Road during construction hours (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) on Monday, July 14 and Tuesday, July 15. This detour will be removed at the end of each workday, and the normal traffic pattern will be reinstated.

Traffic traveling westbound will be directed to Sudbury Road, then right onto Old Sudbury Road. Flaggers and/or detail officers will then direct traffic through a gate on the right side of Old Sudbury Road, where additional signage will lead traffic through the office building parking lot. Traffic will then flow right at the end of the parking lot and be directed left back onto Powder Mill Road into Maynard. Eastbound traffic will follow this route in the reverse direction.
In the meantime, work is progressing on the new Apartments at Powder Mill.
