Scarecrows lining up on Parker Street

October 11, 2025

The scarecrows are lined up and ready to greet the public at Cucurbit Farm, 32 Parker St. in Acton. The public is invited to vote for their favorite at the “Stand Up to Stigma” Scarecrow Contest. These scarecrow faces are just a touch of the creativity on display at the event. They overlook a corn maze you can explore as well.

There is still plenty of time to build your scarecrow creation. Stop by the farmstand where your $25 donation gets you a starter frame. Then, return your scarecrow, and the farmers will give it a spot along the fence. Contest winners will be announced on November 1. Proceeds benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Central Middlesex, which is an organization that offers support, education, and advocacy for individuals living with mental health conditions and for their family members as well. The scarecrows will be on display for the month of October. Additional info at: namicentralmiddlesex.org/newsletter/scarecrow-contest2025.
