Saad Dinno of Acton Pharmacy wins highest honors from Mass. Pharmacy Association

June 20, 2026

Saad Dinno, co-owner of the Dinno Health Family of Pharmacies, received the 2026 Bowl of Hygeia Award from the Massachusetts Pharmacy Association. Established in 1958, the annual award recognizes pharmacists who possess outstanding records of civic leadership in their communities. This award is considered one of the highest honors a pharmacist can receive; it celebrates not only professional excellence, but also the lasting difference pharmacists make through their dedication to their patients and communities.

The website of the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations explains that Hygeia was the daughter and assistant of Asclepius, the God of Medicine and Healing. Her classical symbol was a bowl containing a medicinal potion, with the serpent of wisdom partaking of it, the same serpent that appears on the caduceus, the symbol of medicine.

Saad and his brother Raied have been constants in our communities since they purchased these pharmacies, nearly 30 years ago in Acton and nearly 20 years ago in Concord. Saad can be found not only at Acton Pharmacy but at local senior centers providing vaccinations multiple times a year. He often wears the hat of delivery driver and he has been known to personally deliver medications to local residents’ homes or to assisted living facilities such as Robbins Brook.

Saad is the current president of the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy, and he often shares his knowledge of pharmacy with Acton TV, where you can find his interviews about a variety of pharmacy topics. Saad and Raied’s pharmacies and their team of employees are well known in their communities for always putting customers first and going above and beyond to meet community needs.

At the Massachusetts Pharmacist Association Spring Awards Banquet, held on Thursday, June 4, Saad was introduced by his son and co-worker, Danny Dinno. Many Dinno Health employees were present for the presentation.
