The Powder Mill Road Sewer Extension Project will require lane closures and traffic delays starting in mid-June. The entire project is expected to finish in November 2025. The extension of Acton’s town sewer system is in support of The Apartments at Powder Mill, a 230-unit luxury residential apartment community being built in southernmost Acton, on the south bank of the Assabet River.

More details about the road closures are available from the Phasing Plan and the Design Plans.

During the weekday construction hours between 7 a.m. and 3.p.m. there will be lane closures and traffic delays on Powder Mill Road (Route 62) between Sudbury Road and the Maynard Town Line. You can find details about the project on the Powder Mill Road Sewer Extension page.

The town of Acton will provide periodic updates on progress and schedule forecasts, and post important traffic impact notices. After the sewer road work finishes, additional road work will be required to improve the water service, according to minutes from the Acton Water District Commissioners.
