Policy: Obituaries

The Acton Exchange publishes obituaries of current and past residents of Acton, Massachusetts, and of people who have a connection to the town.
There is no charge to publish an obituary in the Acton Exchange.
The text should include the decedent’s full name, dates of birth and death, and noteworthy events in their life, especially events involving Acton.
Include one high resolution photograph of the decedent. If possible, identify who took the photograph.
There is no word limit. Hyperlinks are welcome.
Text may be edited for style or grammar.
Email text and photo to Obits@actonexchange.org.
We accept obituaries submitted by a funeral home or by the family of the decedent.
Include the name, phone number, and email address of the person submitting, in case we have follow up questions.
The Acton Exchange has a weekly deadline of Tuesday at noon for publication on the following weekend. If there is a funeral or memorial service before our next publication date, our volunteer team will try to publish the obituary sooner, but cannot make any guarantees.
