  • Richard Amir Piano Concert @ Acton Woman’s Club

    Richard Amir entertained locally in early March.  He was such a hit, the Acton Woman’s Club invited him to perform for the public in the upstairs ballroom of their Federalist-style antique Clubhouse.  Richard’s performance is a blend of music and storytelling.  After a 40 year career in business, Richard taught himself to play the piano at age 66 and discovered a new career. This free performance is offered to the public to celebrate the 110th  Anniversary of the founding of the Acton Woman’s Club, with financial support from the Acton/Boxborough Cultural Council.  For more information about the Club, go to

    The Acton Woman's Club’s September program features two Local Businesses: Eve & Murray's Farm to Home in West Acton Village carries American farmstead cheeses, charcuterie, natural wines, craft beer, and accompaniments. They will demonstrate putting together a charcuterie board which will be raffled off. Gonzalo Condes de Bethencourt originally from Madrid recently opened a micro-bakery here in Acton, where he crafts traditional, European-style sourdough bread using time-honored techniques, organic ingredients, and fresh milled flour. He will tell about his journey to become a baker and provide samples of his breads. This program will be proceeded by a light lunch and

  • Acton Woman’s Club: Doug Halley speaks

    Doug Halley will be featured at the October 8 Acton Woman's Club meeting. Doug will share  the history and significance of the Pine Hawk archaeological site in South Acton.  Acton's most important archaeological discovery, the site was surveyed prior to the construction of  Acton's wastewater treatment plant on Adams Street while Halley was the Health Director of the town.
