In an effort to support and empower renters in our community, the Town of Acton and Acton Council on Aging (COA) is proud to announce a new Tenant Rights Presentation by MetroWest Legal Services designed to educate residents on their legal protections, responsibilities, and available housing resources.
The training is open to all renters, housing advocates, and community members who want to better understand tenant-landlord laws and strategies for housing stability.
The training aims to equip tenants with the knowledge and tools needed to advocate for themselves and maintain safe, secure housing. Given rising housing costs and increasing risks of displacement, understanding tenant rights is more important than ever.
The session will cover:
- Tenant legal rights and responsibilities
- Lease agreements and eviction protections
- How to report unsafe or unfair housing practices
- Resources for legal aid and housing support
