Would you like to attend a short and familiar worship service during the week? Our Called to Care team will be hosting a dementia-friendly worship service on Thursday, June 19th at 10 am. The service will be 30 minutes long, with familiar hymns, and familiar scriptures and prayers. All are welcome to this service and fellowship after the service. It is also a time to connect with others who are interested in dementia-friendly events and fellowship.
On June 19 at 2:00 pm, the Acton Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission invites you to our commemoration of Juneteenth. We begin at the Acton Congregational Church with author Ray Anthony Shephard, who will present a history of Juneteenth and its relevance to other fights for freedom, followed by several musical selections. Around 3:00 pm, we will walk to the Acton Women’s Club where local tour guide Amy Cole will share Acton’s history about Emancipation and local abolitionists. We end with a presentation on how horse culture ties into the histories of Black freedom.

Join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony to recognize Handworks Gallery new store location in Acton! They moved into the Great Woods Plaza at 340 Great Road, Acton.
Visitors can enjoy the Museum and the Discovery Woods outdoor nature playscape and Treehouse with free admission from 4:30pm to 8:00pm every Friday night from June 20 until Labor Day. Reservations are no longer required nor accepted. The Museum will gratefully accept non-perishable food items for Open Table and Acton Food Pantry in lieu of admission, though a food donation is not required for admission. Celebrate summer, local food and community at Boston Area Gleaners’ 6th annual June Food Day! This rain or shine celebration will be held on Saturday, June 21st from 4:30-8:30pm at our headquarters at Stonefield Farm in Acton. Our biggest community event of the season will feature farm fun for all ages: there will be hay rides, farm tours, a raffle, live music, catered food and complimentary festive beverages. Any proceeds from this event will help to support our programs and further our mission to create an equitable and sustainable food system for our community. We hope to see you there!
