For the last 200 years, the United States has had a complex, often controversial, relationship with our southern neighbors. Recent events in South America and the Caribbean illustrate that the story of this relationship is still unfolding. See how many you have been to and recall past adventures or learn about others that you never got to experience first-hand. Each landmark, whether natural or manmade, contributes to our country’s history and culture. We’ll start with some clues to pinpoint our destination and then delve into the background of each stop of our travels. Crisscrossing around the country, we’ll explore some of the biggest tourist destinations our 50 states have to offer, each revealing a different chapter of the American story.

Central Middlesex Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and the Acton Health and Human Services sponsored by Acton Fire/EMS/EMD proudly presents a workshop to be prepared for emergencies. In this two-hour workshop you will receive a Make a Plan template and learn about: Why you we need to be prepared Different types of disasters Sheltering in place Evacuation notices Pets Go-bags Presented by Lois Luniewicz, Registered Environmental Health Specialist and Coordinator, Central Middlesex Medical Reserve Corps. Lois has over twenty years experience with Medical Reserve Corps, Emergency Preparedness and Public Health.

Professional tour leader Amy Cole grew up near Acton Center and has a wide ranging-interest in Acton’s unique history. Walking Acton’s historic civic center, you will learn about the people, places and practices that shaped the town’s history and our nation’s as well. Topics include Native American history, the role of the church, the importance of Captain Isaac Davis and the Acton Minutemen, nearby historic buildings, memorials and more.
