A new Revolutionary War exhibit will be on display in the original part of the house that was standing on April 19, 1775. We will revisit Acton's fateful participation in the events of that day and in the years of war that followed. We will also explore the ways that later generations have kept that history alive.
This Council on Aging (COA) program blends live performance, storytelling and visuals about the origins of blues, rock and country music presented by singer and songwriter Jon Waterman. In the show, Jon is joined by Li Waterman on bass. Fascinating characters and events that are part of the history and the role of music in our lives will be explored. Jon and Li’s programs are enthusiastically received in Acton. This program is supported by a grant from the Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. Open to all seniors/free
See all events for Earth Month (and Invasive Species Month) here: April is invasive species and earth month! FOR TEENS!!! Along with the Acton Libraries Teen Advisory Group, spend an afternoon with the Acton Sustainability Office to remove invasive plants from our parks around town. Walk the trails in Acton’s conservation areas with the goal of earning a sticker and a sew-on patch! These weekly walks are a joint effort between Acton Conservation Trust and Acton Conservation Division. We’ll walk a different conservation area weekly, on Wednesdays from April 9 to June 11. The location of each hike will be sent out each Sunday before the walk. Once registered, you can join us whenever it suits you. REGISTER HERE

Every year, area senior citizens are welcomed to a special conference hosted by our district’s State Senator. The 44th Senior Conference will include entertainment, food and raffle prizes. The Senior Conference is intended to provide seniors with a day of useful information, entertainment and educational workshops from expert guest speakers on topics including aging well, planning for your future, and resources for caregivers and family members. Help us usher in the Spring by building birdhouses for the town. Birdhouses built during this event will be painted the following week and then installed in areas around the library in order to provide homes for native songbirds. Help get the North Acton Community Garden ready for summer! We will be removing invasive plants and trash. Some plants range from easily being pulled from the ground to removing with tools like shovels and pruners. Please review what to bring below! Any children must be supervised by an adult!
