Join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony to recognize Handworks Gallery new store location in Acton!  They moved into the Great Woods Plaza at 340 Great Road, Acton.

This interactive event promises to engage the audience in a fun and lively atmosphere! Please note that this event is recommended for mature audiences. Fifer’s Day is organized by the Boxborough District Minutemen Company in association with the Boxborough Public Celebrations Committee as well as many other town organizations. We are looking into several exciting new activities for the kids and will have our usual live music, bouncy castles, volleyball, road race, craft and vendor booths as well as delicious food and drink options. Celebrate summer, local food and community at Boston Area Gleaners’ 6th annual June Food Day! This rain or shine celebration will be held on Saturday, June 21st from 4:30-8:30pm at our headquarters at Stonefield Farm in Acton. Our biggest community event of the season will feature farm fun for all ages: there will be hay rides, farm tours, a raffle, live music, catered food and complimentary festive beverages. Any proceeds from this event will help to support our programs and further our mission to create an equitable and sustainable food system for our community. We hope to see you there!

The Iron Work Farm continues its series of combined “4th Sunday” events with a museum open house at Jones Tavern (1 to 3 p.m.) and at the Jones-Faulkner Homestead (3 to 5 p.m.), as well as the first part of a two-part program for children on colonial ceramics, “Fire in the Hole.” For “Fire in the Hole,” part of our hands-on Colonial Life series for children and families, from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Faulkner Homestead we will dig and build a kiln pit, and learn how to process clay and make a vessel for the dining table.
