Acton Medical Associates sold

The Boston Globe reported on October 10 that Acton Medical Associates will be acquired by Optum, a division of United Health Group. The 45-doctor practice’s website is titled, “Your Independent Community Healthcare.” Terms or timing of the acquisition were not revealed. Dr. Deborah Kovacs began working at Acton Medical in 2001 and is now the Chief Medical Officer and CEO, as well as a practicing primary care doctor. Phone calls to Acton Medical’s administrative office were not returned.
Creative Playthings closed

Creative Playthings’ store at 425 Great Road is permanently closed. The location sold all of its floor models during their fall sale. The company’s other locations are in Holliston and Pembroke.
Madhuri Indian Restaurant has new location

Madhuri Indian Restaurant at Nagog Mall was forced to close to make way for new development. Next week the restaurant will open in a new location at Acton Woods Plaza between CVS and Kitchen Outfitters. Tables and chairs are in place, new carpet is on the floor, and the walls are freshly painted. They will be open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., for dining in and take out. Call 978 429 8043.
McGovern Subaru construction almost complete

McGovern Subaru construction is nearly complete at their new location. The dealership, located until now on Powdermill Road in South Acton, is planning on opening at Nagog Mall the week of November 10. The service department will expand from 11 bays to 20. The waiting room will have snacks and drinks and feature a dog grooming service. The general manager, Nidal Murashah, says the dealership will be pet friendly, as 80% of Subaru drivers own pets.
