Boxborough Winterfest: Blue skies and deep snow serve up a perfect day

February 7, 2026

Jan. 31, Steele Farm, Boxborough: Nobody at Boxborough’s annual Winterfest complained about the latest snowstorm, as it provided perfect conditions for tubing and sledding on a sunny day, with temps in the low 20’s. The snow banks did prevent parking at the farm this year, but the town provided free shuttle buses from Town Hall every ten minutes. However, on such a pleasant day, some attendees chose instead to walk the mile or so on scenic Middle Road.

Whichever way they arrived, folks found plenty to eat, with tables offering pizza, fresh baked items, Girl Scout cookies, and hot cocoa. And the over-21 crowd could buy a beer from the Dirigible Brewing company. Local non-profit groups on hand included the Boxborough Conservation Trust, Boxborough Minutemen, the Boxborough News, and the Ballot Question Committee for a new fire truck, which gave out free hand warmers. Judy, the event’s organizer, said the crowd exceeded last year’s, as did the number of vendors, which numbered approximately twenty tables.

Music, provided by a D.J., serenaded the sledders and shoppers during the three-hour event, including Dean Martin’s rendition of “Let it Snow”.
