What is the Acton Exchange?
The Acton Exchange is a nonprofit online newspaper serving Acton, Mass., as its local news source. It was founded in 2023 to fill a local news void in the community and rapidly became an essential part of life in the town. To learn how to become a sponsor, please click on Become a Sponsor.
Who is the audience?
Our primary audience is Acton’s 18,600 adults, living in approximately 9,400 households that are home to 6,000 children. Content is also relevant to Boxborough and other neighboring towns as well as to former Acton residents and extended family members.
With over 1,900 subscribers to its free weekly newsletter, the Acton Exchange averages over 11,000 visits per month with almost 26,000 page views per month.*
How does the Acton Exchange promote readership?
We promote through presentations at local events, social media, and word of mouth throughout the community. Many people visit the Acton Exchange online and spread the word to their neighbors that Acton once again has a hometown local newspaper.

Your investment will help the Acton Exchange hire and retain a small professional staff to support the dozens of volunteer journalists, editors, and technologists who build community connections and cover all aspects of Acton life — from local businesses to government, the arts, the environment, educational issues, high school sports, cultural events, police matters, vetting letters to the editor and more.
