Aug. 20, Acton Memorial Library: From the Beatles, to Tom Petty, to Fleetwood Mac, to Four Non-blondes, the husband and wife duo Rule of Two covered a wide range of rock artists for a solid two hours in the library’s Meeting Room tonight. Emily Desmond, on bass, vocals, and electronic drums, and Aaron Wheeler, playing a blistering lead guitar, complemented each other’s playing with the tight synchrony you’d expect from a group that’s been performing in public for ten years, and probably even earlier when they were both Berklee students.
Between songs, Emily engaged with the audience of about twenty with tidbits on the group’s history, and solicited requests. Halfway through the show, a courier delivered a beautiful bouquet from an appreciative fan. The band entertains at weddings and other private functions, and performs a free concert every Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 at Garrison’s Restaurant in Billerica.
