DESCRIPTION:Bang a drum\, toot a flute or blow your horn… you are invited to the Acton-Boxborough Community Band Summer finale on Thursday\, August 7\, 2025 at 7pm.\n\nEvery summer we end with an open rehearsal\, where community members can participate in the culminating evening of our summer session.  We read through lots of fun\, familiar and fascinating literature\, and you are welcome to bring an instrument\, or just observe how we keep our fiddles flying and french horns functional.\n\nThe event is free and open to the public\, and held in the ABRHS band room. SUMMARY:AB Community Band: Poetry in Motion concert
DESCRIPTION:The Acton-Boxborough Community Band will present a concert based on the theme “Poetry in Motion” on Thursday\, May 15\, 2025 in the R. J. Grey School Auditorium.  The 7pm concert is free and open to the public. \nAlways delivering audience-friendly shows based on themes\, this concert features music inspired by poetry.  “Korobushka” is based on an energetic Russian story about a traveling salesman.  Other works include von Suppe’s “Poet and Peasant Overture\,” “Der Erlkonig” based on Goethe’s gothic poem and the world premiere of Rigda Vacadi’s “Reflections on Four Latvian Poets.”  Of course\, the band will also perform Johnny Tillotson’s “Poetry in Motion!” \nDirector: David Manuel Garcia\, https://www.davidmanuelgarcia.com/ \nThe R.
