Participants will be asked to complete brief surveys during the series to help us understand what is most helpful and how we can continue improving the program. He was a leading member of The Harlem Renaissance and was greatly influenced by the poetry of Walt Whitman. His poems continually ask the question: What does it mean to be an American? We will study many of his iconic poems and read three of his short stories.
