Oct 11th is the drop off date for our 2025 Apple Pie (neighborly) competition. \nSign up at the link – Just 20 places in 2 age categories; Apple Pie Baker’s Sign Up. \nFor bakers only\, on Saturday\, October 11\, pies must be delivered to the library between noon-2pm for judging. \nFor bakers and the public\, come to the library on Sunday\, October 12 at 2pm to celebrate the winners and get a slice (or two) of delicious pie\, a donut\, or a glass of cider! \nAfter all\, there’s no such thing as a bad apple pie! \nSo that the judges can compare apples to apples (so to speak) there are a few guidelines.  BUT there are 20 places only… so read the guidelines below then register your name as interested 😉\n\nPies are to be homemade including crust.\nFilling is to be just apples and spices (no other fruits).\nYour general recipe must be written and submitted\, including the type of apple(s) used. \nBring a printout of the recipe or email it to friendsofactonlibraries@gmail.com.\n\n

DESCRIPTION:The Boxborough Museum at 575 Middle Road is open on second Sundays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  \nCome see Boxborough’s historic treasures including the 1850’s scale which is sensitive enough to weigh a penny and strong enough to calibrate a 50 pound weight\, the “new” hearse built in 1881\, and the “old” hearse (come and see how old is old).   \nAdmission is free and all are welcome. DESCRIPTION:YV Art Museum\, also known as Contemporary Arts International (CAI)\, is\nproud to present a solo exhibition of sculpture entitled “Shadow Work” by James D. Cen-\nnamo in the Downstairs Gallery. The Exhibition will run from October 5\, 2025 through\nJanuary 25\, 2026; an Opening Reception will be held on October 12\, Sunday\, at 2:00 PM. \nThis exhibition features 83 pieces from SHADOW WORK\, a miniature sculpture series\nthat revisits unforgettable events and social commentaries-both good and bad\, heroic\nand tragic\, celebrated and infamous-that have shaped society from the 1960s to today.\nThough the sculptures are tiny in size\, the stories they tell are monumental.
